I started playing guitar at the age of 17. My first band experience was as the lead vocalist for a hard rock band "Killers", shortly after I took over the guitar responsibilities and played until the age of 23. Then just like that I started to focus on a different direction and career and the guitar became a hobby. In 2006 after years of not playing I started jamming again and playing with different musicians. Today I am the lead guitarist for the Westechster New York based Heavy Metal Band Earthbound.
I can't deny it. When I started playing 25 years ago it was about fun, but as soon as I had played a couple of gigs, it turned into a dream of becoming a Rock Star. That did not work! Now playing is about having fun. However, I am serious about music and I approach it professionally and work hard to make sure me and my band mates do our best to entertain the crowds in our gigs.
About Weekend Shred Warrior
My journey back to the music scene was fun, exciting but it was also challenging. Now in my late 40's the scene is familiar yet different. My goal in getting back was to have fun and restart were I left of when I played and gigged with a Rock band in my teens to mid 20's.
Through my experience I hope to provide good information that will be useful for the Weekend Warrior that wants to get back at doing what they love. Playing music in a band. I also share my passion for guitars, gear and funny stories about what it feels like to be playing again after a 20 year hiatus.
